EA Confirms Switch 2 Versions of Madden and FC, But Details Still Thin

EA’s announcement that both Madden NFL and EA Sports FC are coming to FC 26 Coins the Nintendo Switch 2 has sparked plenty of buzz—but also left a lot of questions unanswered. The company says these entries are “grounded in what fans enjoy from our franchises,” and specifically built for Nintendo’s new handheld system.

That said, there’s no clear answer on whether they’ll match the feature set of PS5 or Xbox versions. EA’s goal, it says, is to deliver consistency “as much as the hardware allows.” So far, EA hasn’t confirmed crossplay or even if these releases will be branded the same as FC 26 or Madden 26. Switch 2 Gets Madden and FC, But Will They Be More Than Legacy Editions?

With EA officially announcing Madden NFL and EA Sports FC for the Switch 2, attention has turned to whether these versions will offer the full gameplay experience or fall back on the barebones “Legacy Editions” of old. EA says the games are “designed for Switch 2” and aim for consistency, but hardware limitations are clearly a factor.

Last year’s FC 25 on Switch marked a step forward from previous stripped-down editions, which only updated rosters and kits. While EA hasn’t confirmed how deep these new versions will go in terms of cheap FC 26 Coins features or visuals, the intent to build for Switch 2 from the ground up suggests they could offer a more modern experience.
