Dan Fogler has officially been cast in the upcoming Warner Bros. film, a spinoff from the “Harry Potter” franchise titled “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” featuring Eddie Redmayne in the lead role.

Joining Fogler are Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol, while Ezra Miller is also in discussions to become part of the ensemble.

In the film, Fogler will portray Jacob, a character who is a non-magical individual that encounters Newt Scamander (played by Redmayne) during his journey through New York City, where Scamander aims to uncover and catalog magical creatures.

The movie is helmed by director David Yates and is based on a screenplay penned by J.K. Rowling, marking her first foray into screenwriting.

Set approximately seventy years prior to the events of Harry Potter, “Fantastic Beasts” draws inspiration from the Hogwarts textbook of the same name and chronicles the escapades of its author, Scamander, a professional in the study of magical creatures, known as a magizoologist.
